Technology International, Inc., based in Richmond, Virginia, offers specialized Notified Body services to support compliance with European Union product regulations. Through our U.S.-based subsidiary, we assist manufacturers in meeting the requirements of:

• Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC) 2014/30/EU

• Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU

As an EU Notified Body (No. 2863) under the Mutual Recognition Agreements between the U.S. Government and the European Commission, Technology International, Inc. provides independent conformity assessments to help companies place products on the EU market with confidence.

What is a Notified Body?

A Notified Body is an organization officially designated to assess the conformity of products before they are marketed in the European Union.

The involvement of Notified Bodies is defined by individual EU Directives or Regulations:

• Some regulations require substantial Notified Body involvement for most products.

• Others make the use of a Notified Body entirely voluntary, though companies often opt in to enhance credibility or meet contractual obligations.

 

Our Notified Body Services

Under the EMC Directive and RED, Technology International, Inc. can perform EU-Type Examinations (EUTEs) of a manufacturer’s technical documentation.

• If documentation demonstrates compliance with the applicable Directive, an EU-Type Examination Certificate is issued.

• EUTEs are optional for nearly all products, but manufacturers often choose them to:

  • Provide assurance to customers

  • Meet contractual or procurement requirements
